How was the gig?
Peaceful. Dutch poet Lucebert once said: “Peace is good food with good music.” I think we had all of it.

What’s the beauty of music?
The beauty of music for me lies in its imperfect suggestion that there is a metaphysical universe right next to the dance floor.

What’s your favourite record?
To drive away the vampires: Balkan Folk Musics, 1930s-80s Because it has an amazing drive, great melodies and a bagpipe orchestra with choir line-up too.
