MICHAEL VATCHER / WILBERT DE JOODE / BART MARIS / HARMEN FRAANJE
A quartet of four well-known musicians in the international jazz scenes of Amsterdam and Belgium. They have all been playing concerts all over the world with multiple groups and ensembles. They are all masters of improvisation, each with their own specialization and preferences. This evening they will play as a quartet for the first time!
Bart Maris – trumpet | Harmen Fraanje – piano | Wilbert de Joode – bass | Michael Vatcher – drums
WARELIS /RAVE/WARTEL COLLINS
Warelis/Rave/Wartel Collins is an Amsterdam based group (formed in 2020) consisting of three strong improvisers with an aim for instant composing. With their common curiosity on researching new sounds and musical textures, they create a soundscape that floats between a driving rhythm and wavy, more stationary pieces.
Marta Warelis – piano | Ada Rave – tenor saxophone | Georgia Wartel Collins – double bass
REMCO MENTING SOLO
After studying jazz drums at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Menting played in a wide variety of bands in recent years as a drummer, of which jazz trio Kapok was the most important. Kapok won the Dutch Jazz Award, the European Jazz Award and the Edison Audience Award.
In addition to many performances at home and abroad, Menting has always been involved in teaching, both on a regular basis as with workshops & group sessions. He is also directing groups, next to improvising and performing himself.
