carried by invisible bodies

Door open: 19.00, first performance 19.30 entrance 6-18 (sliding scale, pay what you can).

Dear,

remember when you moved in space and a soundless disturbance made you turn? Like a mighty revelation made you realise something; an entity was following you, tangentially, in unison, in anticipation, in delay with your movements. You had been touched by invisible bodies.

Now, what accompanies your journey along the four-chapter performative event at De Ruimte, are not ghostly projections, but vibrant visions shared through a multitude of practises related to the body and its many virtualities.

For the next months (February – July 2022), cyclically, the invited artists will populate the embodied and virtual space between bodies, objects, ideologies, selves, intimately conspiring with the fictional and fluid concept of identity. Their languages of synchronic verbal tenses and audiovisual scores will curb and project you in the prysm of life possibilities.

In the process, you may be aroused by the blurriness of organs and dreams, and let go of the idea you are contained only by your skin. You came a long way, you will be leaving, because you are here and where, if you were, where we will be.

We hope to meet you there.

Eleonora Luccarini – Léonard Santé, 16 poems

This reading-performance by Eleonora Luccarini is part of an interdisciplinary project based on poetry where the line between fiction and autobiography is blurred. Léonard Santé is the tool used by the artist to portray a certain kind of masculinity that struggles to deconstruct itself and its subtle misogynistic traits, while poetry is the medium through which the alter ego, thus the artist, tries to understand his complex and contradictory relationship with emotional vulnerability, gender, sexuality, religion, future and family expectations.

SATIN DE COMPOSTELA – high femme heavy metal
Satin de Compostela‘s practice is driven by examination of frequencies and vibrations, and their capacity of altering the states of being, followed by the belief that music originated from healing rituals. She recalls the effigy of Światowid – the Slavic pagan intersex divine entity. Maja Chiara Faber mixes the iconography, rituals, legends and facts about early Slavic paganism, with her own mythology of being queer, femme and hyperandrogenic, owning her aesthetic choices informed by existing in early 2000s in Poland during her formative years.

First edition of the performance series carried by invisible bodies featuring a reading performance by Eleonora Luccarini who acts as the spokesperson of her alter ego and poet Léonard Santé, a white cisgender man experiencing an identity crisis – and high femme heavy metal, a music performance by Satin de Compostela.
